You can stop dreaming about passing the WV Class A test, and make those dreams a reality – thanks to this Class A CDL practice test! If you want to drive huge commercial vehicles such as flat-bed trucks, school buses and livestock transportation vehicles, you will need a Class A license. This test is more advanced and consequently more difficult to pass than the Class B or Class C DMV permit test. This is primarily because Class A vehicles are larger, heavier and more difficult to manage than smaller vehicles, so the actual practical driving assessment is more challenging. However, there are also some extra obstacles in the form of mandatory endorsement exams which you need to take to pass the Class A license test in West Virginia.
Endorsements are essentially add-ons for your commercial driving license. You only sit an endorsement DMV test for West Virginia if it deals with specialist knowledge that is specific to your chosen career path. Are you still not sure how the endorsements work? Don’t worry, we’ll clear it all up for you. Then it’s time to take our WV Class A practice test for a spin! If your goal is to become a Class A commercial driver, you will unfortunately need to take two mandatory endorsement exams – you may even require more, depending on what type of vehicle you hope to drive. The two endorsements you need as a minimum requirement are the Air Brake and Combination Vehicle qualifications. This is simply down to the fact that nearly all Class A vehicles use air brakes and can be considered combination vehicles, so you’ll need to understand how these features affect vehicle control and safety procedures. Then you will take a WV DMV test for each endorsement.
There are situations in which you could need to sit one or more endorsements in addition to the two mandatory tests and the DMV WV permit test. For instance, operating a liquid transportation vehicle would require a Tank endorsement; if the liquid cargo also qualified as a hazardous material, you’d need a HazMat endorsement too. We hope this makes things a little clearer for you! Remember, endorsements must be dealt with after the general knowledge DMV written test for 2020. So, you do not have to worry about them if you’re just starting out. This Class A license WV practice test has been made exclusively to prepare you for the general knowledge test. It does not contain any endorsement DMV test questions, though there are other free CDL practice tests which do, here on the website.
Every important commercial driving topic you will read about in the West Virginia DMV handbook will be represented on this DMV general knowledge practice test, using real-life DMV test questions – just like those you will encounter on the real exam. As these topics are not class-specific and apply to all commercial driving students, the CDL general knowledge DMV permit test is the same for everybody. Which means, our WV CDL practice test is suitable for Class A drivers, but also works perfectly well as a Class C and Class B CDL practice test!
We do have some full-length CDL practice quizzes on our website, but this handy little test has been designed with new learners in mind. It features just 20 multiple-choice DMV test questions, so you do not need to worry about being overwhelmed by a time-consuming quiz. There will come a time when you’re feeling more confident and want to tackle a longer test. When this happens, you can give our free DMV cheat sheet a try!
