Cutting long story short, you need to study parts 2 and 3 of the New York DMV manual, that's chapter 4 through chapter 12. You can probably skip DMV contacts at the end of chapter 12, but everything else is pretty important and you should take your time going through those 60 pages. It may seem like a lot, but it really isn't, besides, the book is saturated with images that take up significant space and help you fight the boredom along the way.
Why should you bother with the NYS permit book and not simply wing the knowledge test?
