We don't believe there is such thing as being overly prepared for the Nebraska permit test - we simply don't! This is why we are always adding new practice tests and new sample questions to the website - so you can prepare for virtually any challenge the DMV can fathom! Sometimes we're asked how many DMV practice tests is enough and we really can't give a simple straightforward answer to that question. We believe that you should do your best to take as many learners permit practice tests as you have time for and score no less than 90% on all of them before you schedule your DMV appointment and try to tackle the real thing. This rarely takes more than a few weeks and those who start studying two-three weeks in advance are usually able to learn everything they need to pass the exam, even if they happen to skip a weekend or two. The key is to build a study routine and follow that routine as strictly as you can, doing a little every day!
This 2018 Nebraska DMV practice test follows the format set by other sample exams on the website - 20 multiple choice questions that cover road signs and traffic rules, with four different answers provided for every question. Just like other exams, the test is graded on the fly and you receive feedback throughout the entire exam - you do not have to finish the entire DMV practice test just to find out where you went wrong. Whenever you answer a question incorrectly, the system will help you find the right answer and even provide you with a detailed explanation for the driving rule covered by that question. These explanations are based on the official Nebraska drivers manual, the publication that is commonly referred to as the permit book (can you guess why?) and you should read them before you proceed to the next question. Don't worry about the time it takes, reading a few lines will only take a moment and your free DMV practice permit test is not timed anyway, you can take as long as you need to work on it!
Once done with the entire practice test, look to your grades for directions on what to do next. The score you get for this test serves as a great indicator of your progress and will help you determine whether you need to repeat this Nebraska DMV practice test again or if it's time for you to move on to the next quiz. While you are free to use whatever benchmark you like, we suggest that you do not stop working on the exam until you are able to answer at least 18 questions correctly every time. This grade is a little higher than the one the DMV expects you to achieve during the real test, but let this be a safety cushion you can rely on. Trust us, you don't want to be cutting it too close and going into the DMV after scoring just 80% on your sample quizzes!
If you ever find yourself stuck at a particularly hard question - don't rush with choosing a random answer and use integrated study aids instead. Your 2018 Nebraska DMV practice test has two types of study aids available - hints and the 50/50 option. Always use hints first and resort to the 50/50 button only when nothing else helps. You can also look to the official drivers manual for answers to these permit test questions - the book is very versatile and contains more information than you need to pass the real exam!
